Coming to the end of our second year

Posted on

We are so grateful for the Lord’s blessing us with a fantastic second year of classes at Gideon Study Center.  What a delight it has been welcoming new families in this year, seeing the students grow and excel in both Christian character as well as academic achievement.

Just two more weeks — 4 days of classes — are left but the To-do list is still pretty full:

  • Distribute yearbooks (and marshal the students’ excitement as they race to get signatures from their friends and tutors)
  • Dress up day: where students are allowed to dress in costume of their favorite character from history or literature which they’ve studied at Gideon this year
  • Final projects, presentations and exams
  • Casual day and last day of classes: we tell our incoming families (more specifically, those incoming students not enthralled with the dress code) that out of 365 days of the year, Gideon meets for 64, and for only 61 must students strictly follow the dress code. This is the day most students look forward to all year long!  We will also have a hot dog cookout during lunch, and a medieval battle complete with royalty, armies and military strategy (planned and developed by 2 of our 6th/7th grade students).

If you have considered Gideon Study Center, but have not yet taken the time to communicate your interest to us, we encourage you to do so.
